Default What if Kinetix had a GB on their plenums??

How many people would buy one if Kinetix had a GB on their plenums? Anybody know if they have ever done one or if they would do one? I want one but I would love to pay a little less for it. Maybe this thread could get one going. Who knows!

They did introductory pricing when they first came out. It was $359 back then I believe.

many people are buying them for 399 anyway, so i doubt the company has any reason to offer it for less.

Thats probably true, but I'd still like to see a GB or something like that. I think I can speak for others by saying I would like to get it for a few $$$ less. Who wouldnt?

Well, maybe you should have asked that and not this :

Anybody know if they have ever done one or if they would do one?

Which is why I said they had introductory/group buy pricing when they released them.

If you're going to argue or make a smart comment to everyone that replys to you, perhaps you should do the obvious thing and email or call them and ask instead of posting on a message board that is no way affiliated with kinetix

I, like everyone else that has bought a plenum from Kinetix, applaud their customer service! I bought v.2 which ended up developing a crack. Kinetix promptly sent me redesigned v.3 under the lifetime warranty-- at no charge to me! Kinetix even picked up the shipping charges.

It's great to see them stand behind their product and treat their customers so fairly--- even though it's probably costing them a bunch of money to keep customers satisfied.

I doubt they'd do a group deal at this point since they've taken such a hit with all the exchanges of v.2 plenums.

I think your the lucky one. Im curious though, they offer free upgrades even if it didnt crack, why wouldnt you take that offer, knowing the number of problems others have had specially with v1. 5 years down the road if it cracks you might not be on the forum or they might not be around, whichever, why not take the free replacement now?

I'd consider it if there's a group buy!

I am sure at some time in the somewhat near future I will move up to the version 3 plenum. First off, right now I have no problems with it so i do not want to mess with it. Second, I have no time to do it. I am way too busy to spend anytime on the Z. Hopefully by mid July to August I will be able to do an upgrade.

Unless of course I develop a problem, then I will be forced to spend the time and do the upgrade.

AND FINALLY - I WILL ALWAYS BE ON THIS FORUM!!!!!

crawford is expensive, but it's metal, looks stonger/more expensive... the kinetix is plastic, i know it's some special kind of plastic, but it seems like it could cost a lot cheaper . . . i'm down for a groupbuy

the crawford is recycled metal which they use from an existing plenum, then attach a lower half to. the kinetix is actually built from scratch. if anything the crawford should be cheaper since they modify you stock plenum

Agreed...I think the Crawford price is more indicative of the labor involved in making such a piece more so than the price of materials that go in into it.

I'm still one of the originals with version 1. I think I am going to send it in to get it exchanged for a V3 though since I am planning on running nitrous in the near future. Until then, I will keep it though...

I sent the following email to Kinetix this morning. Now I will just sit back and hope to see some good news.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am a member of the my350z.com forum and have been reading about your plenum for several months. I have read good things about both your products as well as your company. I noticed your price on the plenum is $399 and I am guessing w/o shipping. I have also noticed that your competitors plenum is also around $400. I created a post asking if people would purchase this plenum(those that do not already own one) for a discounted price, just to see what everyone's opinion is. So far I have seen about 5 or 6 people that would buy these at a discounted price. With that in mind, I approach you. Would Kinetix be interrested in doing some sort of group buy on their plenums, say for around $350 shipped? I have been told that you did an introductory price on these when they first came out for around this same price. Like I said, there are several people who would be interrested in this. Thanks for hearing me. Hope to hear from you soon.

For those of you that were interrested in a GB, it has come to play. I made a new thread about the details of the GB. I will PM those that said they were interrested.
