Why do you say that? I'll report back in a few days on my findings... As for availability, BJ @ 350Evo has them in stock as well...

Ok, I have to say I listened to the clip for one reason. I have just installed the 1985C. I like what I hear when I drive and know I think it is even better. No other setup is equal. Now if I could get that Kinetix Plenum sent to me I would be all set.

Stop debating!!!!

Glad you posted this...I've been waiting a while for the straight-tip system...sounds like crap compared to what I was expecting...very raspy....guess I'll be waiting for something else....

it sounds ok but its just really subtle and quiet i personally think....i hope someone posts a video of a z with this exhaust with test pipes though...for some reason i think test pipes would open up this exhaust quiet a bit.

It's definitely not raspy....

But yeah if anything, maybe a little subtle and quiet for some people's tastes, but I want to see some people do test pipes with the exhaust. Depending on how that sounds, I'm either doing test pipes or if it's no good, high-flow cat.

Great Job on the video. I have to disagree on the raspy sound. Did you all hear the Civic with a 4" tip, when he was reving the engine in the beginning of the video?? I know injen makes good products, i think they ruin the sound of a great 3.5l.

Keep in mind that it's a video camera right up next to the exhaust system. Trust me, it's not raspy at all.

Dave nice vid, I actually think the straight tip looks much better on the car than when just laying around like in some pics I've seen. Yours seems a little quieter than my angled tips when I first got that. I have test-pipes now and my exhaust is loud as ***! We should meet up sometime man....

i just got my injen straight installed the other day and im very pleased with it. ive heard about 10 other exhausts in person, including the 2800 dollar amuse, the apexi, fujutsubo, nismo and the borla, and none of them even compare in terms of deepness and non-riciness. forget about the videos and sound clips. if you hear this in person youll be amazed that a non turbo 6 cylinder can sound this good. my friends that have heard it have all agreed its the best sounding japanese car theyve ever heard. of course, if you like the high pitch ricey sound, by all means stay away from this exhaust.
in terms of volume, in my opinion its absolutely perfect. its loud enough to get attention, but its not obnoxious and if your cruising on the freeway theres very minimal droning.

just thought i would also mention that the only exhaust that i thought sounded even remotely as good was the borla. so if price is an issue, the borla would be my second choice

Yesterday I went to a dyno day in Cochranville, PA and got my car dyno'd stock....230 rwhp.....after we left my friends and I went back to my buddies house and we installed the injen ses straight tip exhaust and an aem cai and what an amazing difference in sound and feel! At the dyno day there was some mustang cobras that were pushing around 500 hp and sounded awesome...after we put on my exhaust and took it for a spin my friends all said it sounded better then the mustangs!!!!!! I was shocked...i never thought my Z would sound like a v8 but the injen exhaust is awesome! I will get the car dyno'd again if I put the pulley set in and let you know the hp that i gained with the intake and the exhaust...then with the pulley set. If you want an exhaust that makes your car sound deep and like a v8 this is the one! I bought my exuast from evolutionautosports.com which is one of our sponsers...they gave me a good price and i got it super fast!

Excellent video Dave. My Injens should be here Tuesday. Thanks again for steering me toward them. I'll touch base with you once I've done the install to tell you how satisfied I am...no doubt I will be.

Yeah, PM me, we definitely need to meet up sometime, I want to compare sounds

Sounding like a V8 may be a bit overkill though lol...at least in my opinion. But for an import, it sounds great.

If you are looking for something similar to the stock sound, with a slightly deeper growl, go with the Borla. + you'll add about 10hp to the wheels. ditto on the Civic!

Default Efficient on Twin Turbo?

Will this Injen exhaust work efficiently for those that will be Twin Turboing in the future?

Excellent question but I am leaning towards a Vortech setup, myself. I definitely want to get an exhaust system that will provide some benefit for FI and even though this is BY FAR the best sounding exhsust system for the Z (I have heard it in person and must agree that the sound clips/videos sound NOTHING like the exhaust in person), it would not go on my car unless it's FI friendly.
