Default Plenum with CAI???

I hear ppl saying its not good to run a CAI with a plenum such as crawfords or kinetix however, running a popcharger is fine. I would like to confirm if this is true???

I've never heard that before. I run a CAI w/ my Crawford & have not had any problems. It's got a great sucking sound to it around 3500 RPM & up.

The only intake we have seen issues with is the AEM. But that was on a car with stock plenum. We have heard the same issues with plenum owners and the AEM. They usually switch to something else. I think the main issue is it may not get enough air in the wheel well, it has nothing to do with plenums. It should be said that not all AEM CAI owners have these results . . .some are just fine.

Personally I think stock intake is the best. I run JWT just because of the sound and the look.

I have the Injen CAI and the Crawford Plenum plus other goodies, and did some testing with this since a lot of people were saying this and that. I was also told that the stock air box with a K&N drop in was the best solution. Boy that was a bunch of crap! The Injen CAI simply blew away the stock airbox + k&N hands down. I also tried the Injen CAI as a short ram but had terrible results as well that way. I would love to have the popcharger filter to test with that but I feel that the Injen is good enough "as is" and do not want to spend the extra $$$ just to find out its not worth it. I tested these setups at the local 1/4 mile track where I lost 0.4-0.6 seconds off my time with the other setups. The Injen CAI full setup blew them away.

what about grupe m with plenum, that would oppositely rock the house and also a ecu reprogran and an exedy, but cats would definetly need replacing. i wold just get strait pipes then replaice when needed.

Tried crawford plenum with injen short ram, the car feels sluggish when starting... switched to stock airbox with k&n, it feel a lot better than injen short ram.. sorry, don't have injen extended pipe to test the full injen cai setup..

so crawford with stock airbox / k&n is good enough for me

I used to think I could really feel differences. When I did this testing on the 1/4 mile track it really opened my eyes as to just how much of a difference there really was that I could not "feel" all that well. Off the line, sure, but when the car is accelerating down the road to 100mph+ it is pretty difficult to "feel" these differences. After the test I started trying to time how long I was in second and third gear. That helped me to quantify the differences more than my feelings when I am off the track.
