Y-Pipe Installed Photos with Dyno Results
as they said (and rightfully so), the dyno is only worth what it tells on on THAT dyno on THAT day
- the important thing is not really the net gain you got, but the mere prescence of a gain and how the overall curve was shifted. Based on the chart the Y pipe, as one would expect, works.
I would say there might be something at issue with the dyno's calibration, as there is no way the car went from 0-110.5 mph in 11.11 seconds (first run) or from 0-104.9 mph in 9.32 seconds (second run). I realize it started at 2500 mph. But it's def a nicely constructed piece, and would surely compliment the Ultimate high flow cats
I would not out so much faith in the argument that the car leans out automatically with the addition of the cats or the exhaust components.....initially yes, but once the ecu learns these mods (and it does), it settles in to near stock levels again (spent 12 hours flashing my early '04 on the dyno last fall, so I can say I know from first hand experience how the4 ecu interacts with everythign...its scary!). However, with the flashed ecu, the ability for the ecu to make corretiosn i significantly reduced, and you are able to essentially "dumb down" it's learning function...it still does learn, adn teh car still will alter itself based on ambient inlet air temp, cleanliness of air filter, humidity, quality of gas, etc, but it won't be as inconsistent as it normally would be.

the z could theoretically go 0-111mph in 11 seconds. keep in mind, there is no air resistance on a dyno. therefore, no parasitic drag.
the y-pipe does look good. i would love to see one come out for under 400 dollars. maybe 350? together, changing the y pipe and the stock cats will provide awesome gains on our cars. i don't really care what the dyno chart says, but i know the UT y pipe will serve its function, and in conjunction with a exhaust system and the high flow cats or test pipes, should produce atleast 15whp over stock.

Nice looking piece. I would love for someone to get it and run some consumer dynos to see what real world gains might be.
I'm betting and expecting around 5-7 whp, as with most well constructed Y-pipes.

I don't believe the stock exhaust sound will change much with just a Y-pipe.
Anyone esle care to comment?

Dear All,
Many of you are concerned with the stock exhaust sound after installing our Y-pipe. While we can say under normal driving conditions there's not much of an audible difference. But under WOT, thats when you'll hear a difference. Its slightly louder and emits a deeper sounding tone over stock.
