Default Quality of JIC exhaust products?

Hello, this is for those who own JIC exhaust products. What do you think of the quality and fitment of the Y-pipe and catback exhausts sold by JIC. I am specifically looking into the JIC y-pipe and Spartan type 2 exhaust. Thanks.

The JIC Y-Pipe I received looked like Flight Hardware, enough said. I even posted a thread on it. Do a search.

Thanks, I read your post. I may decide to get rid of my Borla exhaust, if I do, I was looking into a Y-pipe type setup because they seem to fit better on the Z than the TD setups.

The JIC Y-Pipe that I have is very well made. The welds are clean, and the fit is flawless.

Even if the Magnaflow exhaust is really a JIC exhaust system, it is still the same price so you might as well go with the real deal.

I have the y-pipe and I have the spartan type 2 in full ti on order. If the type 2 is anything like the y-pipe, it will be awesome.

Will do. Only problem is that it's going to be around 8 weeks to get it from Japan. It's the one for the G coupe, not the 350Z. However, the only difference should be the length.

I may order and install the stainless version before you get yours. If so, I guess I will let you know about the sound...

I have the JIC Type 2 in SS on my Z, and it is definitely of solid quality. The welds are clean, it was easy to assemble, weighs less than stock, fits perfectly, and sounds awesome. I didn't do a before and after dyno, so I can't comment on power. Right now I'm running with the stock Y Pipe and JWT pop-charger. The combination sounds awesome, and I get compliments all of the time. The tone is deeper than stock when crusing around and at low rpm's. The car gives a great wail when you go WOT at rev it up. I'm thinking about doing the Y pipe too, but I'm worried that the car will be a bit too loud for my taste.

That's what I wanted to hear, J Ritt. The JIC is the only manufacturer that is making a ti exhaust (muffler with dual tips) specifically made for the G. I'm doing it mainly for the weight loss and figured that a good note would be a bonus.

If this helps, I have the JIC Y-pipe and I honestly didn't notice a difference in tone/decibels. Can't wait for my exhaust.

When I initially had my JIC y-pipe installed (to the OEM exhaust). There was a small leak at the point where the y-pipe collector flange bolts to the stock b-pipe flange.

I went back to my installer and he theorized that the y-pipe was not defective but for some odd reason it wouldn't seal tightly with the stock exhaust. There was a small gap at the flanges which was causing an audible hissing sound. He ended up changing the gasket and now it doesn't seem to leak. He also thought that the flange on an aftermarket exhaust would fit seemlessly. I'm not sure if I understand his reasoning but whatever.

Anyway, the y-pipe seems to be very well made.
