Default Anyone use a different filter w/ popcharger?

My popcharger is getting a little dirty, so in place of re-oiling it and potentially screwing the MAF, I'm considering buying a dry-filter. Has anyone gone this route?

That's all the popcharger is....a "special" filter. You'd be defeating the purpose if you did that.
