Actually, there is another member here that has the same complaints that I have. I forgot his call sign. Hopefully he'll see this thread and chime in.

 

I have the Crawford Plenum and CATs. Performance gains are noticeable. The CATs really opened up the Plenum potential.

If I weren't going FI I woudl ahve considered the headers a great addtion.

-With the CATS and Borla TD , I have NO rasp , I may consider the APS cast Plenum in the futre. just right IMO.

- The only downside IMO with the Plenum is the intake "diesel-like" noise (but it grows on you). I may consider the APS cast Plenum in the future when available. A casted version would surely be quieter.

 

Having done the Headers twice now . . . the ONLY thing that could be considered a down side is a set of marred hands!!

They have healed rather well since the last install!

I have not experienced any raspy sounds from my headers & Cats - although I do have an irrating rattle that comes & goes, kinda like a heat shield thing.

I'm planning on going with the Crawford Plenum in the not too distant future - gotta check with Doug on some "research" he's been working on

if i went ahead and pulled the motor, would it be easier to install the headers that way or is that a waste of time? do u need remove the headers to remove and install the engine?

ok so listen to this ****.

i had the crawford parts mailed to my moms office because i used her credit card to order them. Well the billing address on my moms card is her business thats why they are going there.

anyhow, ove dinner tonite, shes says she got a box in and it might be mine but she didnt check and she didnt bring it home. MAN!!! now im soo excited, and mad all at the same time.

she said it would either be the crawford stuff or paper. now seriously does anyone else see how freak out i am. my babies might be sitting alone without me or they could be papers.

shes a cool mom but def. needs to understand thats these parts mean more to me than paper.

sorry for talking to myself.... i do it often and figured i had to express myself here.

Btw: tomarrow i will find out what that box really contains.

Follow the directions on the website for the FASTEST install method.

 

Your not planning on a self install are you? I did it and do not recommend it. At least have a partner to help get the job done. A good set of tools is also a must. If you do not have some good tools this job is nearly impossible and could take you a very long time. It took me 11-12 hours by myself cussing and swearing wishing at times that I had not tried it alone. I of course felt pretty damn good when it was all done but am not sure I would want to do this again without getting paid a **** load of money.

 

I hear ya! Took my shop 2 days! This is with the appropriate tools too, I believe. They installed 2 Greddy TT kits without problem, and thought that installing the NISMO Headers would be a "walk in the park". They only charged me ~$450 for 2 days of work . I saw what the mechanic had to do, and dang I wouldn't do it for that price!

 

my shop installed my nismo headers w/ no probs and in no time....only $300 labor.

when i switched to crawfords i warned him it would be much tougher, but he still said it would be no problem and gave me the SAME rate.....well, he did it in one day from 8 am to 6 pm and told me labor for crawfords will now be 5-600

 

good thing i work in a shop. Evolution Motorworks. we have four lifts, a dyno and some other goodies. im guessing i could have the headers and plenum swap done in about five hours.

thank god i dont have to pay for installation. that saves me some good dough.
