what are the other companies selling metal plenums?

SSR was supposed to make a whole intake manifold...but it never happened. if anybody wants to do testing, it can happen though.

and the US rep for APS has offered us free shipping. no group buy because APS is supposedly really **** about selling it for retail price. they are also giving us 20 reserve spots, but with no proven gains, im sure nobody wants them yet.

Yes, I agree. Nissan gave us those darn bridgestone RE040s. Even the STi get RE070s stock and the Evo gets those Yokohamas.

Why Nissan, why!? I would have gladly paid more.

Im sure bridgestone picked the tires. and chose them based on marketing of the brand using the Z. they run ads in most car mags with the Z and those tires.

Well wait... the RE040a are in relative terms a high performance tire.

You see that tire standard on Integra Type-Rs, etc... so it's not THAT bad. It's just not a good tire for the weight of our car.

At the tail of the dragon several months back, Doug (Dougrace zs) experiened the Pilot Sports greasing over and traction was on the way out, whereas my RE040s were still fine.

As for the RE070s, those are a tire I would LOVE to try out. Though from what I understand there is no sizes, yet and the STi is their pilot mass production project... reference http://www.bridgestone-firestone.com...d=2003/030815a

Oh well... a simple replacement to Kumho MXs to those more budget minded will leave a nice smile! Or with that extra dinero, Pirelli P-Zeros will leave your car feeling slower do to all the extra grip!

Ironically enough, even the STi guys are selling the RE070s... People are NEVER happy!

They are definately a dry performance tire and not a damn thing more. I can't complain at all about their dry pavement performance. Most people are getting better dry performance because they are getting much wider tires. This is not an even comparo against the stockers, but RE040 not good on wet pavement are they PhoenixINX!!!!
