Default Kinetix Plenum and Cats installed...reviewed

I received the v3 plenum and the hi-flo cats 6-7 weeks ago. I installed the plenum shortly after I received the goods and had the cats installed by a shop for $70 yesterday.

The plenum:
Some fitment issues but overall a great mod. Getting the plenum to line up to the bolt holes and to "seat" properly takes a little time and some patience. I had to loosen some bolts to get others to thread and repeated this process til everything was threaded. The v3 specific alignment problem with the center supports not sitting flat on the lower plenum because of the threading was a minor prblem but I ended up swapping the allen head bolts out for beefier hex bolts and got them to line up. After some messing the plenum sits flush using the stock gasket. I torqued the bolts to spec and used the supplied locktite but still feel a little wierd about it. Doesn't seem tight enuf so I have contined to check them and they seem to hold. Butt dyno says gains are good in the upper rev band over 3500RPM. I like the sound also. Remindes me of the lifter noise from an F40 or 328. Time will tell if this version holds up. However, I have seen no indictation of wear to this day. A great mod and worth the money. Even if this version fails at some point I would replace it with the current version. I'm confident Kinetix will make everyone happy in the end with this piece.

The cats:
Lighter than stock by 2-3 lbs and looking like stock cats, these cats perform well and make the sound of the car sound a little deeper, not really louder, which is great for me. The fit was spot on with no issues what so ever. I mean that the stock cat was removed and the Kinetix cat was bolted up without ANY wriggling, pulling, loosening of other bolts, nothing. Mechanic used two 2' extensions from the top side of the engine to get at 2 bolts on the passenger side. Without a lift and several extentions, and an extra pair of hands, this $70 was well spent. As for performance, I do feel difference after 3500RPM, car feels like it accelerates slightly faster and more torque is noticed when you are rolling at 3500RPM and mash the pedal. Gitty-up! After putting ~ 50 miles on them I think the ECU may be finished adjusting or will be soon. More HP and tq may come then.

Overall, I'm very happy with the plenum and cats. Performance expected is performance delivered. I plan on dynoing but after I receive my DC header and install it, decide on and install a Y-pipe, and get a ECU re-flash.
