I just read in the DC sports instruction manual that while the pipes are SS, the flanges are mild steel which will rust. WTF did I buy SS headers for if the god damn flanges will still rust!!! That really sucks especially since I live in Santa Monica where I am sure these will rust sooner than normal. I am also surprised to hear that these headers dont change the sound of the car very much. A friend of mine has a set of headers along with a full exhaust system on his 3.5 altima, and after about 5k his car fucckin screams and just sounds badass. It almost sounds like VTEC kicking in on a honda or something.

Default DC Headers Install

I was talking about at low RPM (2-3,000) on an Injen exhaust w/ silencer tips. However, when you floor it (3-6,500). It is definitely louder but not raspy. A very deep loud growl. If you are in my area I could have you hear them.

You would think that whoever did the instruction manual for DC Sports would have the correct information, but according to turbo high-tech magazine the flanges are stainless steel.

http://www.turbomagazine.com/tech/0409tur_zheader/

“Take a good look at the DC Sports headers and you can easily tell the runners are nearly equal length and the collector is a true three-into-one merge piece for better flow. Mandrel-bent stainless-steel tubing (1-5/8-inch) is used throughout and the flanges are CNC-machined from stainless-steel . Even the 02 bung is made from stainless steel.

With the DC Sports headers in place, the 350Z generated 248.8 hp and 239.2 lb-ft of torque. The real gains were generated in the mid-range where the VQ35DE needs it most, with a gain of 9.1 hp and 12.5 lb-ft of torque.”

This is from DC Sport’s website. http://www.dcsports.com/press_events_detail.asp?aid=41

“NEW 100% 304 Stainless steel construction (no mild steel flanges), or mild steel with ceramic coating”

The flanges are stainless. Check with a magnet, 304 stainless is non-magnetic. BTW, UPS delivered mine this morning.

if your looking for more sound....your exhaust is going to make the biggest difference so make your change here if you want something louder

Just came from the workshop with'em on
I am very impressed. You can really feel the difference at the whole RPM range. My butt dyno says defenite gain

Had them from the-once in a life time-summit deal and got them fixed for $110.
Totally worth it
