Default Owners' impressions of Injen Straight Tip Exhaust?

Do you feel any gains? Losses? Any Dyno charts???
Does the exhaust drone on the highway? Is it loud enough to be a nuisance? Will it drown out conversations / music in the cabin?
Will the wife approve? Thanks for your input!

Default My 2 cents

I've had mine on for about a month now, also had crawford high flow cats at the same time...I love the sound, it's aggresive under excelleration but hardly noticible at cruising speeds. I think my air intake/exhaust system is excellent after installing the crawford v5 plenum Monday and having the Injen cai on for about a year now...the only other mod I could do now is headers but I don't think I'm going to replace those.

I love my Injen ses...going to dyno soon, butt I have no baseline. I need a reflash...

There is some lost of tourqe at the low end, but you can really feel it in the top end. Here is a video clip of the injen:

Thanks for the reply!
Any fitmet/rattling issues with either the Injen Super SES or the Crawford Cats?

I've had mine on since May. Love it. Only issue I had was one of the pipes rubbing on my rear sway bar and rattling--but it's aftermarket and the InJen is obviously designed to go with the stock sway bar. I've since fixed the problem.

My car is pretty loud, but then again, I have long tube headers, cams, and a S/C adding to the volume.

The most recent issue of Sport Z magazine had a pretty decent write up on the exhaust that I would suggest you read (the title's something along the lines of "3 Great Z Mods"--it's paired with info on plenums and CAIs.)

I love the look and sound of the exhaust. The only issue is when cruising in 5th or 6th in the lower RPM range when you barely accelerate it makes a deep loud drowning sound. If you like to drive in higher RPMs though you won't notice it.

Hmmm... interesting.
Is this when cruising at highway speeds (60-70), or only lower? At what RPM is it a nuisance?

Below 3000 RPM when you want to accelerate up 5 mph it gets pretty loud. I notice mostly when going around 55 in 6th gear I think.

I have the Injen SES & CAI. It sounds great, especially if you get on it when going under bridges and you get that echo! Kinetix resonated test pipes are going on in about 2-weeks. Cann't wait.

Does it get boomy around town in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd if you're easy on the gas?
Thanks again for all the input!

It's noticibly loader than stock, but not obnoxious. I wouldn't say that it is boomy, just more aggressive. People look to see what is coming when you rev it. I get lots of compliments on the sound. No one has ever told me that it is too loud. I reved it under a big bridge the other day and it sounded sweet. I wish I had a long tunnel out here to run it through.
