Flowmaster to me, is a muffler for american muscle cars and trucks. I would not use inferior and flowmaster in the same sentence though. I have two Flowmasters on my 1970 Chevelle and I did one dyno run full exhaust and one dyno run open header and came back with the same results. That means Flowmaster made an amazing muffler. I however would not put one on the Z. My Injen exhaust makes a deep sound that I love with noticable horsepower gains and it looks a lot better. My .02.

Has anybody got sound clips, I'd like to hear how a flowmaster sounds on the Z.
I've got two on my Monte Carlo SS and love the tone.

[B]I would give you some sound clips but I don't have a digital recorder. You'll just have to take our word for it that you won't be disappointed. I am a gear head like the rest of everyone on here so when I say it sounds great my bet is that about 90% of the people on this forum would agree with me. You can call it cheap or sensible(imo) that if I can get the sound I want, horsepower gain I NEED, do it myself, and save a ton of money, I will go that route. Some people just like to spend $ and theres nothing wrong with that I guess. You can spend the loot and get the NAME or save some $ and get the satisfaction. My 2c's

why 80 series? So quiet, IMO if ur gonna go with flowmaster, go with the new super 40s. That will make ur sh** rumble. I use to have a 98 Toyota Landcruiser and I had 30 series on it and I'll tell u, it sounded louder than a 400 small block(to those who know wut I'm sayin). A 4.7 Liter V8, not even as big as say a 6.0 Liter Chevy or a big block. And its japanese. But I would agree with everyone and have to say flowmaster sounds better on domestics. Not to affend anyone but I feel the same about borla. IMO japanese exhausts are made for japanese cars. IMO!

Ive heard the videoclips on You Tube of a Flowmaster 80 series, originally for a Camero. On a 350Z it sounds great, the magnaflow sounds the same as stock. CherryBomb glass packs have a loud sound after the catz. As one who wants to put some performance into my 04' 350Z I would go the Flowmaster, route myself either the 80 series, or the 40 though the Super 40 series sounds good. but I don't know how it sounds on a Z.

I just wanted to chime in & converse.
