Default Nismo headers installed....now VDC problems??

Just had my NISMO headers installed. I think I am going to wait a while, at least until next summer, to go TT. Anyway, after having the headers installed, the VDC system engaged itself and now I have the VDC off light and slip light on all of the time. A couple of times, the brakes have locked up on me while starting to drive. It was scary at first, but it only does it once, and then I think the ECU disables the VDC system. Anyone have any suggestions?

who did the install??? its not from the headers! who ever installed them must have messed up something else! im not sure what though??? i would take it to the dealer as much as i hate to tell you to! have them hook up the consult II, and see where the problem is coming from. once they trouble shoot the problem for you, get a quote to have it fixed, and DEMAND to the shop that installed your headers that they pay for the fix!! ASWELL AS the dealer fee to find the problem. id go ASAP! you dont need to be in the rain or something, doing 65 and your breaks lock up all of the sudden! you know what i mean? good luck bro! please let us know what you find out. i have NEVER heard of a Z doing that before????

what is your impression of the performance from the headers? are they worth the cash?

As far as the VDC, they probably forgot to hook up a connector that they unhooked during install.

Thanks

If the steering shaft was disconnected to install the drivers side header, and was re-attached a couple of deg. out, the steering angle sensor freaks out the VDC.

This is getting old.....the VDC just flips out and locks the brakes up when I start to drive. The shop that did the install is about an hour away. I'll call them and see what they'd suggest. I do know that they had problems getting the wheels straight, so the steering shaft is most definately the problem.

As far as the headers go, they are great. I have several other mods that compliment them. I do notice more power off the line now and it takes less gas pedal input to get the car moving really fast.

OK...problem fixed. Nissan dealer reset the problem in like 5 minutes. I would not let this scare anyone off from installing the headers. Best thing to do is to mark the location from where you remove the linkage on the steering shaft and re-install it in the exact same location. It's not a big deal, only frustrating when it happens!!!
