Default lets talk headers and FI

OK I just installed the HKS and I have searched this topic and come to see most say headers on this kit is a no no. But I have talked to dynamic6er at altered and he said being a HKS pro dealer they have the software to tune this kit so I can add the headers and cats and gain power not loose it. He also said they can get about 20 extra hp out of the tuneing Not counting the what the headers and cats add.

So them being a pro dealer I dont see why anybody should worry about adding headers to this kit now.

QUOTE:
We can tune the F-Con for those mods, so I think that would be the best way to go. Have us install the parts and then tune it properly. Again we hope for a more significant bump in power then just header cat, becasue we can adjust the ecm for even better power with just the blower.

so this comes to my question with these added mods should I now be looking at up grading the rods? If so I will just get it all down at the same time.

you wont have any problem putting headers on this kit as long as you tune it and you wont have to upgrade the rods , tuning the hks s/c with headers and cats I say you will be making 360-375whp and thats pretty safe. I would go with Crawford headers if you have the money to spend.

Default stillen stage 2 and headers

I lost 6 hp at the wheels when I put the rt cats on. Talked to stillen and they told me I lossing 10 hp at the wheels because of the headers. Took the cats off and got back the hp 275 rwp.
Should get 285 rwp ( 5 AT). Some thing about valve over lap
15 degrees. Boost gets blowen out of the engine with out making power Base rwp 215 .

there is nothing to tune, My dealer ajust my ecu with consult 2
and ajusted a/f as best as possible. 13.844 1/4 mile at track.
5at . Will be going to alteted atmosphere this year to flash ecu.
will see if rwp increases. Note if you look at the stillen car it has no headers and stock cats 323 rwp.

Well I they are going to install my headers , plenum and cats in a few weeks and said they have the softwear to tune my fcon to handle the bolt on's . something about needing the right usb plug to get in the fcon. He did tell me I would loose about 1lb of boost but gain about 40 rwhp (20 comming from the true)

Pluse they are going to use my car to make a one off pully for the HKS kit so costomers dont have to wait for the HKS one to come out. so I will get some boost back there

Saw a magazine out today with the new HKS kit on a 350Z. Has a good article in it. Think it was Motor Trend but I'm really not sure.
