Is this compatible only with the rev up engine?

its not a compatibility issue. it will definitely fit, but rev up motors see the bigger gains from it.

Is there any proof that it's a motordyne manifold? How would one tell the difference between the stock manifold and the mrev2?

5mm taken off of the front two runners. You can tell in the photo, there's no casting lines on top of the front two runner due to the grinding. I'm not sure of any other ways to tell. I made my own from an old DE core and had it ported and polished along with 5mm removed from the front two.
