This relates to my posts above about my young hotshot.

Ordered from his Christmas list today:

"Japanese Core Words & Phrases" and
"Basic Connections: Making Your Japanese Flow"

At 19 the only printed material I wanted was Playboy!

LOL!

You can take your son to one of the meets up North and have him practice his Japanese with Tako.

Or come down to one of the Z meets in LA and he can talk to me in Japanese.

Exceptional idea, SLVR. I'll pursue it when my "Brick" shows up.

yokosuka de umaremashita demo soshite sugu ni Pueruto Riko ni ikimashita. i studied japanese on my own and in college for three years. i haven't been studying lately though because there aren't many japanese in my area so it is hard to stay motivated. i'm a little rusty but i still have basic survival skills though! one day i will go back, hopefully for 1-3 years. it's kind of cool to be able to say i was born pretty much in the city where my
Z(oppama plant) was born, yokosuka, kanagawa ken prefecture!!!! lol

I lived in Japan for 13 years. Island of "Okinawa" and provinces, Naha, Futenma, and Ishikawa. I still go every other year to visit my friends, Nihojin and American. I have visited 8 countries, but the others can not even stand up to the life I enjoyed in Okinawa. Did a lot of scuba diving there. Between there and Hawaii, it's the best places of all, year round. Had a skyline when I lived in Okinawa, and my friend had a lureal (sp), which was the sports cars there then also along with the fairlady. Also had a 260Z then after I sold my skyline, which was brought in from the U.S.

Watashi no shigoto wa Okinawa desu. 13 yrs. Ima watashi no shigoto wa CA desu. I go to Okinawa every other year for 2 weeks to visit friends. Watashi no tomadachi. I had a 260Z in Okinawa and my friend had a 240Z in the very late 70's. I bought a 280Z here in the early 80's and now have a 350Z. If I had a choice I would retire in Okinawa. A beautiful place with family values put first. I believe anybody able to work there is very lucky. I'm a GS worker for the Fed Gov, but not on a base. You must enjoy everyday you are there. I knowI did. :-)
