Exclamation WTF! Error on the repair manual for transmission, differential fluid change?

WTF, I need some input here.

I put my Z on a 4post lift today to change the transmission fluid and differential fluid (for the 1st time), the 10mm Hex drain plug was tight as hell, almost broke my back to loosen it.

I follwed the service manual and changed with the right fluids for both the tranny and differential. Then I torqued all the drain/fill plugs to spec: then I noticed this on the manual:

Transmission Drain/Fill Plugs: 30-39 N-m (3.1-3.9 Kg-m, 23-28 ft-lb)

Differential Drain/Fill Plugs: 30-39 N-m (3.1-3.9 Kg-m, 55-61 ft-lb)

How can 2 sets of plugs have same torque on Newton-Meter but different for ft-lb? Is this a typo?

I ended up torquing transmission plugs at 25 ft-lb and and differentail plugs at 50 ft-lb. Hope I didn't over/under torque on set of plugs.

Shoot! looks like I over torqued the differential drain/fill plugs (to 50 ft-lb). I hope I can loosen the plugs at the next differentail fluid change 30,000 miles from now. :-(

I wouldn't worry about 50 ft-lbs. As long as it wasn't 150 ft-lbs!!!

How many Nissan mechanics do you suppose use a torque wrench to reinstall those plugs vs. just snugging them??
