Hey everyone,

I was curious if anyone knows about having Nissan install an on/off switch for the passenger seat airbags of my Z. I have a small child that needs to be in a car seat. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't it legal to have a child seat in the passenger side if there are no airbags. Has anyone had to do this already? I called the service shop of my local dealer but I couldn't get past some sales associate who just kept telling me " they wouldn't recommend turning off the passenger's side airbags." ( I don't think she understood) Any information is appreciated.

 

Have the salesperson check out the Nissan website and the 350Z manual. They clearly state that there's an airbag on/off switch.

I also need to get one so that I can take my kids for rides.

 

Not positive but I recall when my kids were that age.....I could only have them in the front pass. seat if the car did'nt have an airbag, or had an airbag cutoff switch....And, the car seat has to face the rear......Don't quote me, but I'll bet your State has a webpage with that kind of info....GL2U....Dave
