Default Damn scratches!

Washing the car: Aargh!

I`ve avoided it many times in the past, but today it got me....the damn hose! Dirt and crap were sticking to it, so when it somehow `snaked` up a foot or so to the plastic bumper (below and behind the fuel filler) it left some scratches 1-2+ inches in length.

The good news is I didn`t bust my hand on something hard seconds after it happened. I also was able to take about 3/4 of the visibility` of the scratches out with 2 waxes of that area with a high-quality wax. Now you can see ``hair`` scratches (not white as you might expect with a scratch that went through the clear coats and deep into the paint itself, but still faintly visible) if you get within a foot or two and know what you`re looking for.

I want to make it better. Does anyone know of a product that will minimize a scratch on painted plastic better than good ol` wax?

Thanks!

Jack

Porter Cable and 3M Swirl remover. Follow whole car up with 3M Machine Glaze.

Good as new even better.

I highly recommend Meguiar's Scratch X fine Scratch and Swirl remover. It comes in a black tube a little larger than a toothpaste tube. Another forum member suggested this product to me when the exact thing happened to me. I have had great success in taking out scratches with this product. You can get it anywhere like AutoZone, etc.
Good luck
