Default Rear Hatch Weight

Back again!! Had my car over at a shop on Sat. They tried to open the springs to install the famous "penny fix." They could not open the gas spring and checked with Nissan and found out that they use three different types of springs for the rear hatch. Apparently this one can not be opened. Talked to Nissan about the other springs they have and they can't/won't tell me if it will work.

I called Veilside, they referred me to Tein. Called Tein..they had no answer for me. I'm reaching out for help with this matter and would appreciate any help.

Signed,
"Not wanting to hold up the rear hatch with my head when putting my golf clubs in the car."

i'd like some info on this too.

my hatch stays open once i lift it but sometimes it wont clear the lock. i'll click the unlock button, it goes up a little but it stays locked.

i read that some people bought new shocks? do they fix the problem?

has anyone tried to bring this up to their dealer? is there a tsb?

The TSB has been out for months, they add larger springs to raise the trunk lid higher when you pop it. Take it in, they'll fix it.

I had the TSB done last week. It takes about 3 minutes. I have the Stillen V1 rear spoiler and my hatch pops up past the lock now. (it did with the pennies as well) You wouldn't even have to leave the car at the stealership.
