After returning from an 80-mile drive I looked my car over and to my horror I found 3 small chips on the top of the hood. They are clean chips with no marks or dents on the primer (whitish gray).

Then I drove out to dinner later that day I checked it out again and they are growing! It's like the paint is flaking away...

That’s not all... I also noticed a chunk up paint missing from the front driver side fender... It’s about 3 centimeters but the difference is it’s a jagged hole with a ruff surface underneath.

I took it to the dealer first thing the next morning and they took pictures and said it would take about a month to get any word from Nissan... That’s a long time not washing my car...

The only odd thing with the dealer so far is that the service guys seem to talk about it a lot in their windowed office. I thought it was strange and they really weren’t that nice, as if I brought them a nightmare even though I was very nice. Maybe I'm just a bit sensitive but I have owned 4 other Nissans and never had issues with paint. I’ve also seen metal bend is all kinds of horrible ways without paint pealing so easily…

Anyone else have paint chips? And is there anything I can do to help this process along?

I have a paint chip in the center of my hood. Right down to the primer with 0 impact signs. Nissan told me it was from a rock and then kindly told me to jump off a cliff. I expected nothing less, lol. I mean like they are going to repaint a hood for anything besides like half the paint melting off or something else that i could easily sue them for. I plan on getting it repaired sooner or later or just replacing the hood.
