First Meeting With Curb

Well, it finally happened. My right front wheel decided to kiss the concrete curb as I was SLOWLY backing out of a parking space. That's what happens when I only have 200 miles under my belt...not enough time to "learn" the car's dimensions.
There's about a 6" scrap along the edge of the wheel. What can I do to fix this, as best I can? Someone at work told me that I need to seal it with clear paint. Otherwise, it may rust.
All comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. And let us take a moment of silence, please, as we reflect upon my car's first blemish.
Thanks,
Dan

I know the paint mentioned won't match the Z's wheels, because I compared the color on my A4 to the Z. I am looking for some wheel paint that will match.

This also happened to me about a couple weeks back. What I did to fix it was apply the nissan touch up paint (KYO) and now its not that noticeable like before. I ordered from courtesyparts.com
Hmm..bondo! Good idea Frank!

Well, to me it looks pretty close. But you can still notice it because of the the scratches. KYO is chrome silver and the 18" non "track" rims look close in color. Im planning on doing that bondo thing to make it smoother.

I took a die grinder with a pollishing stone and smoothed the scrathes. THis alone made it much less noticable. My dealer is supposed to be checking on the touch-up color for me. Once it is painted, I think I will be the only one that notices it.
