Default Whistling noise under moderate acceleration

So far I haven't had any problem with my car, other than the BOSE and the sometime hard to shift into 2nd. However, yesterday I took it out for some hard driving and after a couple very hard acceleration, I began to hear a siren sound. At first I thought "****, why me !?!", but then I checked my mirrors and no cops. So I checked and found that the noise was coming from somewhere in the engine bay and can be heard only under moderate acceleration(hard accel will drone out this whistling/siren like) noise.

I plan to get this look at when I go in for 1st oil change. Just wonder if anyone else has the same noise.

Don't worry! i can also hear a whistling noise, but it's not drastically loud to where i would think they were sirens. Anyhow its the intake system. the engine breathes in a lot of air and makes a whistling noise. i would hear that same whistling sound when i installed a cold air intake into my 99 civic Si. And yes it's most noticable when moderately accelerating. and no it can't be heard when your at a slow pace or when you're accelerating at full throttle. so keep cool nothings wrong...

peace

Hey Tek,
I don't mean to say that it's loud like a wailing siren, but it's a small audible Siren-like sound. I have notice it since and although I don't think it's a problem, I don't think that noise should exist( I didn't hear it before, why now?)

You mean that motor like buzz from the engine that goes up when the RPMs go up?

It's loud when engine is cold, but lightens as engine warms up.

If thats the sound... yes, it's pretty annoying.

I listened to the G35C engine... i didn't recall having that sound.

I get the same thing in my g35c. When pulling hard in the car around 2nd to 3rd, I hear this whistling noise. It's pretty high pitch. I'm trying hard to not let it bother me, but I want to find out what it is.

Is it a whistling sound or a whining sound like a sound a S/C would make, cause thats what mine sounds like.

Does anyone know if they use a timing belt or a timing chain in these motors?

chain, maybe its the LSD working? doubt it. probably just the intake whistling.

if it werent on the coupe it would only be cause there is 200extra lbs of sound deadening material in it. you can add it to the Z too and it will be quiet as can be.

Mine sounds like a S/C also. Just recently started as far as I can tell. I am at 2500 miles.

Default Whine

I had a small whine at 80mph to 92mph only. The dealer replaced the Diff and the noise went away. The diff only made a whining noise when the car was under a load and between the speeds above. Anyway you could tell the whine was from the rear and it was not coming from the engine.
