Default The Z won't start...

Yesterday after work my car refuses to start. It turns over fine, but won't fires up. I tried to for several minutes. Finally I just wait about 10 minutes and then it starts up like nothing is wrong.

I was hoping it was going to be an isolated inncident.

So this morning I get up go out and the same thing happens, except that this time it never starts.

I have to leave it and catch a ride to work. After I get off it magically starts just fine.

So I brought in to my local dealership to get checked out. I can't deal wtih an unreliable car especially for a daily driver....

Has anyone else had this problem?

I'm 100% stock with no issues after 22,000 miles. 2004.5 Enthu. bought new in april 2004.

It did sit without starting for about 9 days while I was out of town. Although I had no problems with it all weekend up to yesterday. I thought that perhaps the ECU may have done something after sitting that long, but that's just a guess.

Ideas?

Did you get any signs before this all happened? Like days before this occurred, did your car throw CEL?

Check your keys. Maybe you have one key that's programmed and one that isn't programmed.

Weak battery is my guess. You sure you didn't leave anything on and severly drain the battery?

The key is the regular key that I always use...

The battery is strong. It turns over just like it always has.

I had no signs that any problem was coming. It was just out of the blue. Pretty shocking . I havent had to worry about whether or not my car was going to start since high school.

I'm already getting ideas about trading it in. I told them they can keep it an extra day or so if they can't duplicate the problem tomorrow...

Hopefully it's something simple.

i had a similar problem only i couldn't get my car to start so i had it towed to the dealership. they diagnosed the problem and found that my key had lost its programming. i could've easily grabbed my spare but never thought it could be something so simple. good thing the dealer fixed it for free and covered the towing too.

the only bad thing is that now my BCM (body control module) ended up shorting out so the dealer had to order a new one. it caused my car to "forget" the keys and not recognize my remotes. the only way to get it to wake up was to put my key in and manually unlock the doors. i felt like such an *** getting into my car using the key after i've been spoiled with keyless entry

anyway.. hope this helps solve your problem.

after a long hard drive one day i parked my car at the end and was hanging out with my friends before heading back home. i parked and turned off the car for like 20 minutes, and then when i was trying to start her back up she wouldn't turn over. After like 5-10 minutes she started up fine though, and ive never had a problem like that since (even after long hard drives).

I think it's key related much like NJ Fairlady Z stated.

My dealership spent two days cranking it every couple of hours. It started up fine...

They said it wasnt giving off any codes either.

It's started like its supposed to since I've picked it up. I hope the problem is overwith whatever it was....

Thanks all for the responses.
