My 03's gear box status
My Z was built in Sept. of 2002. It now has 38,000+ miles and has been ready for a new gear box since sometime after 30,000 miles, but probably before that. It has a very sticky 3rd gear grind in and out, but only when I drive a little to much aggressive, which (heh heh heh) is always
. So Stevens' Creek Nissan in Santa Clara, Ca. has the new warrenty gear box ready for the swap and it will be done this comming week.
Their was also a design change made to the clutch disk which will be replaced under warrenty. Of coarse I am going to pay for a new pressure plate and T/O bearing and have the flywheel turned if neccessary. I am just opting for the factory clutch, I figure it is the best choice since I am staying N/A and no power mods planned.
