oil/oil filters
how much do a quart of regular oil cost and how much more is synthetic oil?
how much do filters cost and what kind should i use for the Z?

Oil filter from the dealer at a little over $4/ea and Mobil-1 Super Syn for less than $5/quart. The parts guy actually offered me this deal: buy 10 oil filters and get 2 free. 
IMO, any oil, conventional or synthetic, will be fine for "normal" driving habits. It's more important to change your oil every 3k miles.
