I don't want to jack the car up. Thick carpet? Will be sitting in the garage for a year! Volks are coming off and the OEM's will be put on.

I inflate the tires to full pressure- 50 psi and then drive onto 4 pieces of blueboard insulation (2 " thickness, I believe) when I store for the winter.

This has worked very well.

I have not stored my Z for for that length of time(might suffer from withdrawal symptoms).....I understand that the radial design in current tires has eliminated the possibility of "flat spotting".......even so, I use carpet squares, and that has worked very nicely.
I also use the above mentioned tire inflation practice too.....

cheers......

Just give me the keys and I'll take it to Pueblo Motorsports Park for a few laps each month. That'll make sure those tires stay in proper working condition!

Same as mentioned earlier...I heard that radials eliminate the problem of flat spotting. If you want to fill the tires up to a max psi, that wouldn't hurt either.

You also have to worry about the rims going out of round. I had a car sit for about 18 months and the rims went out by 1/2". I'd suggest some really sturdy stands. Not what you wanted, but it is the best for the car. Besides, the springs could be affected as well.
