Questions about ramps and changing oil.
This is the first car or truck I've had that require a ramp to change the oil. Oil change on the horizon. Want some opinions of those who have changed their own oil on this car.
My questions...
1) If you drive it onto a ramp, will the oil drain properly out of the vehicle.
2) Will you get any spills into the guard underneath the car (having the car sitting at an angle).
3) What is a good ramp for the Z. Is the Rhino ramp any good?

Personally, I've never changed my car's oil while it's on a ramp just because you won't get it all out. Luckily for me, I can rent a lift for $5 an hour here on post (the Army does have it's benefits...), but I don't know what the hell I'm gonna do when I get out here soon and go up to Dallas.

My personal answers
1. I jack it up from the passenger side. After removing the plug I let the jack down so it drains from a level position.
2. You have to remove the plastic guard anyway to change the filter so it won't be in the way.
3. I believe Rhino ramps work but you still need the extender.

I just rolled my 350 onto ramps made from 2 2x4's stacked and screwed together for each side. Then I removed the plastic shield. After that, I had no problems accessing the drain plug and oil filter.
IIRC, the drain plug is located towards the passenger-side rear of the oil pan so if you raise the front of the car, then it should drain OK.
