Default O2 Sensor Trouble

I guess the O2 Sensor got snagged on something and the wires ripped out of the plastic connector (wire is still connected on the end with the O2 Sensor). So, if I buy a new O2 Sensor will it have the wire and little plastic piece at the end so I can just snap it in? I have pics if any wants to host them for me.

Thanks for any input,

Reav

shop around...you should be able to buy a new 02 sensor for under 100....if it doesn't come with the oem wire and plug, you can just splice the old (wire/plug) to the new 02 sensor. i would try try to find an oem first.

I broke down and went ahead and bout it from the dealer... Cost me $140 but I was paranoid about riding around too long without one. The car runs great now that the new O2 sensor is in and the exhaust weld was repaired! But yeah if you know where I can get then less than $100 for an OEM one hook me up so I know for later.

Thanks,

Gus

The splash pan partially protects the oxygen sensors wiring, buy I’m sure that running over a tree branch for example could pull the wires. I’ll have to be more careful driving after a storm with small branches on the road.

How long can you drive without your O2 sensor? The sensor on the drivers side just behind the catalytic converter. My cars idling funny, but drives just fine once I get going... I'm getting ready to take my Z on a 700 mile round trip for TG

My check engine light came on 3 days ago. I looked and polked around trying find out what was wrong. I was under the car and saw that one of my O2 sensor wires got snagged on something, it ripped two of the four wires from the bung! I tried fixing it, but that was a failure because the wire literally ripped out of the plug-end, not the harness.

My options...

-Buy a new plug and harness from the stealership, $145?
-Buy a universal plug (like Bosch) for $80 and just crimp it on to the existing harness?
-Buy a generic plug from (Auto Warehouse Parts) for $23 and do the same above? Problem is I have to wait a week or so to get it.

HELP
