Default everyone have the window problem?

who here has the window problem where the drivers window doesnt seem to retract down far enough when you open the door? i think its a definite problem with the alignment, because i can push the window down manually to where it SHOULD go. something feels loose in the mechanism. its only in my driver side window though. also, the clearance between the window and the roof frame is awfully tight. im afraid one day im gonna open or shut the door and the whole window is gonna break! any thoughts????

Mine work fine. I remember someone here saying 10mm was the travel distance, and that seems about right.

While installing my stereo I had the power switches for the windows disconnected, which defeated the auto raising/lowering feature. My doors still opened and closed just fine with the windows fully up. They didn't seal very well, but there was no interference with the roof frame. It was very close though, so I wouldn't be surprised if some cars would hit while shutting the door. Opening is no problem since you usually have the door open by the time the window drops down.

Take it to dealer for this. You will break a window if its all the way up and you keep opening the door with it in full extension. Also, you shouldn't need to push it down manually and I wouldn't mention it to your dealer. Just take in and show the service writer the problem.

I have the same situation on my driver door window. It rolls down about 4mm upon opening. I took it to the dealer and they said it has no adjsutment. I showed them that courtsey nissan said it should go down about 10mm. They looked puzzled and said it had enough clearance to open. Have you found anything to say it is adjustable or should be corrected?

There have been several instances where the window sticks all the way up and doesn't retract when you try to open it. Mine stuck one day and I used the window switch to lower it. When I closed it again I used the switch, it went up and has worked perfectly since. Do not force the window, use the switch or, failing that, take it to your dealer for repair. If you force it, you could break both the window and the power mechanism which closes it.
