Default can anybody help me?

I've got an '05 base that is exactly 1 year old this week. I was intrigued (more worried about what would happen if the windows didn't work) with this roll down feature and checked it out when it was brand new. Both windows worked the full amount.
I'm not sure when it started but I noticed 2 months ago they do not roll down the full amount like many of you have experienced. I've tried to locate a brand new car to check out but none really to be found around here since it is winter time. If I open the door the window drops some. Then with the door open, I can move the glass up and down by hand by grabbing the top edge of the glass and physically moving it up and down about 1/2". So is something "loose" then? I've also noticed if you push the button and lower it about another 1/2" there is no longer any of that play in the window that I described. Grabbing it and trying to pull the glass up or push down it does not move.
The reason I am asking is because if the 10mm drop is supposed to fall by gravity my problem is with the door panel resting too tight against the window glass. This could have been caused by me having them off to do the door speakers. Or if the motor/regulator assemlby should have a firm hold of the window throughout the whole travel then I've got something that needs to be repaired.
I doubt that I will be attracting people that have never had a problem in this post but I would appreciate any input you could give.

I am no expert but I don't think you should be able to move the glass by hand like that so I would get it checked out. Since it is still under warranty you shouldn't be out of pocket for it. Just take it to the dealership and see what they say. I don't think this is something that would be caused by the work that you did with the speakers. The window should be held firmly through it's entire range of motion...

bjr - My driver window is also "loose" along w/ other issues. I'd love to tell you the answer, but I don't know. I'm sure there is a logical answer, but I guess the right person hasn't read this thread. Hopefully someone will chime in and solve this issue...

I hope to find some clues too. I never saw any information like I described so I thought I would ask. I am in no hurry to take it to the dealer since all these related window problems seem to come back. I hope I can figure out more on how the windows work before I take it in. I don't think my dealer works on many Z's. I really don't want them messing up the door panels and doing the work I saw in the service manual dealing with the motor and regulator if it won't help. If the motor goes out or something gets worse I'll do it but not right now. I also should mention that both windows act identically, so I can't imagine that they would both go bad but then again look at all of the problems. Both drop very little and both are "loose" at the top of travel.

My window motor also was replaced on my last visit to Nissan for service. It's an 04 with 16,000 miles. Got to where it'd work fine one day then the next i'd try to roll it down and only hear a clicking noise.

i had my driver side power window regulator replaced under warranty last week....the passenger side was replaced back in 03. It was that little roll down that never was on the driver side, nissan tech first attempted to adjust or reset but to no avail and finally they decided to replace the regulator.
My old 2000 VW jetta had power window issues also...i wouldn't buy no VW ever again in my life.
