I saw a very nice writeup on how to fix scratches on another site. The person got a bottle of touchup paint and a bottle of clearcoat, and you could not notice where he repainted.

Now here is my question. I am about to fix some small rock chips and a very small scratch on my hood. I want to get that .5oz bottle but do not know if clearcoat is somehow incorporated into it. Is it? Or do i have to buy another bottle from some other place to get clearcoat?

Touch-up paint is sold in a two part kit: paint plus clear coat. Don't expect miracles. Some members are pleased with two coats of paint, and skip the clear coat. Others apply a base coat of an entirely different color. Experiment.

 

If you are talking about Nissan touch-up paint...clearcoat is mixed in.

What I did was clean the spot with a little rubbing alcohol and if it is a real small spot i use a toothpick to apply the paint. The brush for bigger chips.

 

Ya i got the touchup paint... i also got a rust removes gel, and a black pain that goes straight on metal to prevent rust.


when its gets warm ill have to start getting rid of his little rust spec... i cant find a place that sells clearcoat in a small bottle.... grrr
