Just cleaning off the grease will not fix anything (at least not in my case). I tried that, and noticed that the rollers inside the window had actually scratched my window tint. I didn't notice it until I looked at it in a certain light. My passenger window is just streaking a little bit, but not scratching. You all might want to see if you have scratches, because if you do, cleaning won't do much.

Just got back from the dealer and they are going to replace the window actuator (need to look in the manual to see where and what it is). They had tried to remove just the grease on another car and it didn't solve the problem. Part will be here Monday.

It seems that there now is an internal service bulletin relating to grease on the window, and I will be taking the car in this week to have the problem fixed.

Got my streak fixed at the dealer a couple of weeks ago.
1st attempt: Unable to remove grease.
They ordered and fitted a new actuator as mentioned above and that fixed it. No grease, no rattles, no worries....

Nissan of Orange on Katella was the dealer for those in SoCal....

How would you rate that dealer overall? A bit of a drive from Long Beach, but if it's worth it...

Just talked with a guy name David from Nissan NA, and he confirmed that the actuator replacement WILL NOT fully address the issues. Nissan NA will have a TSB on the real fix on this windows grease issues around late March.
Was told to hold off doing anything for now until an official fix is in.

That's exactly why I'm going through with the actuator replacement now. If the grease shows up again then they can do the TSB fix.

I got mine fixed about month and a half ago. I have a rattle in my door and the grease came back as well. Gonna be taking it back in to the service department as soon as I find some free time.

What exactly did they do to fix it the first time?

The dealerships are well aware of the problem and will fix it even without the TB. Had mine done already. They replaced the felt cloth and grease from the regulators.

Have those of you who have had the actuator replaced still clean, or have the streaks come back?

I've got an appointment tomorrow for scheduled service, and will be talking about the grease streak, a rattle in the dash, and a hideous shrieking that occasionally seems to show up in the passenger visor area.

I, too, have a problem with grease streaks on the windows and just spoke with NNA in anticipation of taking the car in for service.

I was told that the TBS announced for March has not been released, as yet, but is expected to be issued by the end of the month.

Surprisingly, there is not a TBS on seat movement. Those who are experiencing a shift in the driver's seat when cornering (as I do) are advised to have the dealer call the Nissan Tech Line and report the problem. Even though the dealer may be able to address the issue, it is these calls that will generate a TBS.

They took the door apart, cleaned the roller. It lasted about a week before it came back. I took it back and the Service guy told me to wait for the TSB... He said he can do what he did before again, but the grease will come back.

As of march 26th, I called like three dealers by me and none of them even heard of this window grease problem on the Z. One mentioned that he had seen it on other nissan cars.

They all said to just bring it in and they will look at it. I really don't want to bring it in until they know what the problem is.

Does anyone have an update on this TSB scheduled for a late March release?

Same exact response I got. I'm waiting for the TSB due out very soon.

I talked to my dealer yesterday and it was the first they had heard about it. They said they contacted Nissan and they are well aware of the problem, working on a fix, and a TSB would be out soon.
