Flushing engine. . .
How do you flush the engine? What fluid do you use and how do you go about doing it? I cant believe I dont know how to do this, its probably simpler than I think, Ive done everything to my car myself this far.
You can buy engine flush at the autoparts store. Its basically a quart of ATF. You throw it in and let the motor idle for 15 minutes. Drain and refil with fresh oil. Not sure if they really do anything. How many miles do you have on your car and why dod you think you need an engine flush?
If you use good motor oil and faithfully change it you will never need any flushing. There will not be any deposits to break up, especially only after 30k. Have you been taking good care of your car??
Also, do not listen to a dealer who is trying to sell you something. Talk to an unbiased mechanic if there is such a thing. Even if you do everything to your car by yourself it is wise to find a mechanic friend to confide in if you are lucky enough to find one. If you can't decide at least go google engine flushing and get a range of opinions. If I were you I would not do it now, if you ever decide you need to it will not be too late if you do it a few months from now when you have more information on the subject. Good luck!
