Hey guys,

So I got my Z about a month ago. Overall I've been really pleased. However, I recently noticed a flaw in the paint below the "Z" insignia on the right side of the car. I've attached two pictures - the first taken right after I got the car (approx 1 month ago), and the second taken 2 days ago (excuse the water spots!).

What the heck do you guys think this is? It almost looks like something dribbled down the side of the paint and ate it away. It's like the paint has disappeared from this part of the car.

I sent an email to my Nissan salesperson with the same pics, but I would love to hear your guys' opinion as to what this is before I physically show up at the dealer. Anyone else seen something similar or have this problem themselves? While this alone makes me unhappy, the prospect of it happening elsewhere on my car gives me further pause.

if i were you i would clean that spot and re-take the picture.... It would be easier to tell.. cause we dont know if its the clearcoat thats leakin, or if its wax, or w.e


But i do hope you get things worked out with the dealer

 

Very interesting. It looks like the cement for the emblem ran down the surface and damaged the clearcoat (paint).

 

Yeah, I took it in to the dealer and they are going to take care of it. They hadn't seen anything like it before (or so they said).

 

Looks like a tear...
