Question Window Motors-dealership

I know that window motors stopping is a common problem. Here's my question though, do they have to be stuck for the dealership to replace them? Here's the situation, my passenger side window got stuck all the way down on Monday. By Wednesday it still hadn't come back up and it was raining. I had to leave it in the garage and drive another car. I called the dealership and they said to bring it by. Today, the window went back up. So, will they charge me a diagnostic fee to look at it and tell me that there's nothing wrong when we all know this is a common problem? The service guy I talked to acted like he had never heard about the window motor problem, surprise surprise. Anybody had any experience with this or have any advice?

Most people who have the window problem are not that is got stuck down or up. It's that little 3/4 thing from open and closing the door. Shouldn't it be under warranty though?

my passenger side has this problem, it will work like normal and then will quit working, sometimes for a couple of hours or a couple of days... Now i leave it rolled up and my window lock on so it doesn't get rolled down and quit working. Once it had stopped working and was rolled down like 2inches, the next day was my one day off so i was going to just go up to the dealer and show them that its not working so I could leave it or schedule to have it fixed, get up the next morning go out to my car to head to the dealer and it works like normal

If you have to, spend an hour making it go up and down until it breaks again. And if the dealership pretends they've never heard of the issue, hand them a copy of the TSB. I was ready for the worst, but had a positive experience; When my dealership replaced my drivers side window, they replaced the passenger side also, b/c it was making noise and they knew it was about to go.

When it is pouring down raining, the windows will jam open. When you take the car to the dealer, the service manager pushes the button and they work fine. Its a dilemma.

you can replace any parts you want on your own if you wanted to... but if you mess up, most likely wont be covered under NISSAN warranty...

let me know year of your car and zip code by PM and I will get you pricing for parts...

Yeah, it would be covered under warranty but my question is since I can't prove it right now (since they are working again) how do I get them to fix it? Is there a TSB on this? I didn't think there was? Thanks!

The dealer should (did for me) under warranty when mine got stuck. It was working fine of course when I took it in, but I let them know that it got stuck a few times and they just went ahead and replaced the motor without cost to me.

Have an 06. Passenger window wouldnt come all the way down when I opened door so when I shut it, the window would clip the body. Not good. Told Nissan to fix it and they did, even though it was going down when I took it to the dealership. You bought their PREMIER car, just tell them you're going to trade it in for a TT or a Cayman....they'll be happy to help you out.

Figured I would bump this up rather than start a new thread.

About 2 days ago my passenger window went down and would not come up, so I parked and switched sides to try and mess with it and after I closed the door it went up fine. Being the curious person that I am, I keep trying it to see if it works or not, well now it goes down and when I try and roll it up it either feels like the motor is dying, or it goes up and then decides it is possessed and starts to roll itself down.

Anyone have any experience with anything like this? My car is way out of warranty so any idea how much it might run me to get it fixed? Any help is appreciated, I'm a windows down kinda guy and this A/C crap just isnt cutting it.
