Default I wonder if Nissan has sorted problems in new models??

Mine is due to arrive in 6 weeks.....I started reading this column and freaked a bit. Still if front tyres and gearboxes are a problem it must have alerted them to fix the problem. Gearboxes are my nemisis - my top of range Ford had 3 new boxes before 12,000 miles!!! That was driven by my wife who is not hard at all on cars. Same thing with both my S Mercedes. The car I have driven the hardest (Cougar 01) never gave any problems at all!!

I'm really hoping that the problems will be gone but like everyting I buy (video, TV, computers etc) all seem to go wrong at the start. I bought a new set of golf clubs a week ago and the wood cracked on the first hit - the pro shop said I would have to wait for a replacement (after just buying it walking 30 yards and hitting it once). Soon put them right - - got a new one on the spot.

Whatever - the car is still great value for money and if Nissan fixes the problem I can live with it. After all I've been thru the Ford mill and if that did'nt kill me I must be stronger for the experience. (Actually they nearly did kill me - Ford left all the wheel nuts on my Cougar finger tight and the bolts on the rear subframe also loose after a repair.
