Question window streaks/other things for me to whine about

well bottom line this z car kicks azz; I love it. but a few things are bothering me from making the experience perfect:

just hit 1200 btw

1- those stupid window streaks, only one on drivers side
2- the freakin seat moves/clicks when turning hard(there is a good post on a fix for this that i'm gonna try this weekend)
3- my front headlights are fogging a little bit; although recently I haven't seen it; mabey its not going to come back
4- the biggest and last problem, when switching gears is seems to grind and make unusual noises, do all z's have this? i don't think so

the main help I need is with the transmission, do you think I need a new one? I read that others are getting it replaced and are happy now. what do you think?

oh one more thing- just got the run dvd; pretty good but not worth the 9.99 plus 8$ shipping and handling; dont buy it, its nothing special

Have you tried puting masking tape on your window where the streak is and rolling it up and down 500 hundred times? (dont do this if you have tint might be bad)

Fogging head lights: this should go away with use
Window streak: remove door panel and clean rollers (dealer fix)

Don't have the other problems but they have been discussed multiple times...search

found some discussion on the streak... sounds like excessive oil somewhere in the door panel...
should i do the tape trick or take it to the dealer...?
maybe just do the tape trick so they don't have to mess with the car....

I'm letting the dealer do mine when it goes in for the Bose amp replacement. The tape trick I heard is only a temp fix.

i am not even sure i want the dealer to mess with the amp... so far i am not getting the over boosting bass...
i just get really concerned whenever i bring the car to the nissan dealer... the service guy stare at the car like he has never seen one... u ask question about the z inside the dealer and no one knows what u r talking about... i think i will be a z expert soon!!!

Yea, I hear ya...I don't like the idea too much either but if it needs fixing who else can you go to and get it done for free.

hey guys dont waste your tape on the windows
the goverment says we need it for our houses to protect us from deadly gases
the tape creates an air tight barrier that nothing can penatrate.

yes im being sarcatic.

I USED A SPONGE that i taped to the window long ago it worked also but if the tape does to go for it

If you're getting a grinding sound while changing gears and you positively have the clutch fully depressed then take it in and get it evaluated.

I have no grinding what-so-ever.

My dealership says that Nissan is working on yet another "fix" for the window streaks and that they'd call me when they got it (not holding my breath). I will keep calling them and if I get anywhere, I'll let you know.

Just got back from the dealer and they are going to replace the window actuator to solve the grease problem. They had tried to remove just the grease from another car but it didn't solve the problem. The actuator was/is the problem. We'll find out next week after it's replaced.
