![Question](https://my350z.com/forum/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I have and 04 Track model.
My Service engine light went on two weeks ago. No noticable difference in performance. Went to the dealer, it was diagnosed as a random missfire.
Drove home, drove to work, light went on again after I started the car after work. Brought the car back to the dealer this morning...
Multiple missfires, they tried new plugs. Tried swapping out something (sorry not sure what) Now they tell me they want to replace 3 fuel injectors and the cost would be about $945 plus tax.
Do they really know whats wrong with my car? How can 3 injectors go bad without something else being wrong?
I will definitly write a letter to Nissan when I have a bill to mail them.
Anyone have any similar experience or have any advice on my next course of action?
Thanks!
FL Drifter.

Why is it costing you anything - it should be under warranty. From the 2004 Warranty book:
POWERTRAIN COVERAGE
• The Powertrain coverage period is 60 months or 60,000
miles, whichever comes first.
• This warranty covers any repairs needed to correct
defects in materials or workmanship.
• Powertrain coverage applies to components listed below,
supplied by Nissan except for those items listed
under the caption “WHAT IS NOT COVERED”.
ENGINE
Cylinder heads and block and all internal parts, rocker
covers and oil pan, valve train and front cover, timing chain
and tensioner, oil pump, water pump and fuel pump, fuel
injectors, intake and exhaust manifolds and supercharger,
flywheel, seals, and gaskets.
It sounds like they don't know what's wrong and they're trying to screw you.

John,
The section that I posted is the "Powertrain Warranty". Below it are the sub-categories for Engine, Transmission and Transaxel then Drivetrain. Those sections list what is covered on each of the powertrain items.
Here is the complete section:

i understand....
but where in what you poster does it show coils, plugs, maf or anything else except injectors?
unless all you are refering to is injectors.
but injectors arent what is causing his multi cylinder misfire (atleast im pretty certain)

Hey guys,
thanks for your input. I should be able to pick up my Z on Wed or Thursday. I will pull the warranty manual out of the car when I get there and point to the page your talking about.
Right now I just want my car back and will write Nissan a letter with my bill.
(My dad had a problem with the 02 senesors in his 02 Tundra which Toyota ended up reimbursing him for).
My understanding of engines is basic, I understand the difference between two strokes and 4 strokes, and many of the parts, but I am not sure abou the coil packs. If am not mistaken they tried swapping coil packs and that didnt change which cylinder was missfiring.
I will definitly keep you all updated with both the mechanical problem, and the financial outcome.
I want my Z back, I miss it already.

OK i'm on my way to the dealer now, they just called and said my car is ready. The quoted me $1050 on the phone. I will walk in there with warranty in hand and I hope to walk out of there paying next to nothing. Wish me luck.

Thanks for all your input.
All work was fully covered under warranty, after I pointed out that fuel injectors fall under the Drivetrain Warranty.
Invoice listes the following:
Replaced 3 bank 1 fuel injectors.
