2005 rear bumper bracket welds broken
Crap.
Not the welds that everyone has been concerned about, where the outer plate connects to the center section. Instead, the lower weld holding the center section has broken.
It looks like there's a pretty secure tack weld -- or possibly even a stud -- to hold the bottom inner part "folded" in place, but that has broken and now my hitch "rocks" up. Everything else is fine, but when the trailer bounces, it lifts the bumper, which stresses the bottom of the bumper mount.
I guess I'll get another set of bumper mounts, and take these over to my parents' and seam-weld the bottom of the center section.
