Default Speakers blown out?

Driving yesterday, volume was pretty low, all factory Bose system - all of a sudden, I think I go deaf in my left ear. Realize that the sound isn't coming out of the drivers side at all.... checked the balance and fader, no change - if I switch to drivers side, turn it up, it sounds almost as if the speakers are REALLY blown. Can barely hear it, and it's muffled. I don't play music loud at all - any suggestions?

p.s. My Z JUST went out of warranty. Stunner. Tack this on to the brand new tranny I had to put in, the various recalls, the clutch that now squeaks constantly.... it's just getting old. This was my dream ride!

Default One more note...

I never listen to the radio... but I switched it last night for some reason, and the drivers side speaker worked fine... so it's only when it's on CD - maybe a bad head unit?

thats a common problem with the bose systems...

same exact thing that happened to me. same thing with cd mode, same thing with left channel speakers.

i bought it to the dealer and they replaced all the left speakers. after a while, it happened again. its not the speakers, its the BOSE amplifier. they will have to replace the amp.

no problem. also, you can request for your warranty to be honored if it JUST went out of warranty. i was 2.5 weeks past my warranty, and they honored it. if not, i think there is a service bulletin for it... so nissan should be aware that it is a common problem

I have a similar problem I think... When I first got the car I didn't notice any problems but about a week later I noticed the back right speaker not working... A week after that, neither of the back speakers work.

Could be blown, but my first guess was that it was actually the head unit. Probably because when working they sounded fine... There was no indication of the speakers being blown, and I didn't crank it from the time I got the car to the time that they stopped working.

Service bulletin? So if I take this out of warranty 03 Z to the Nissan dealer there's a chance they'll replace it?
