....im only appx. 500 miles away from 30K miles. Is there anything i should do before that happens? Should i take it to the dealer and have them inspect it or something? I bought it used 5 months ago, and it didnt have a manual or anything with it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanx
Don't sweat it. First off, the basic warranty is 36 mo/36K miles. You still have lots on the mileage but depending on when the car went into service, you might be up on months.
The drivetrain is 60 mo/ 60K miles and that covers the major stuff (engine, trans, rear end, etc.)
I doubt they will do a "free" inspection to find something wrong with the car. You might be able to buy an full inspection and hope that if they do find something, it's covered.
What do you know about the previous owner? If he provided you with full records, or told you what dealership maintained the car you might be able to tell from that if there are any systemic problems already. If you bought it from a dealer, see if they are the ones that originally sold the car as they might be a good place to start to get a look at the repair and maint. history.
