Default acceleration loss

Hey guys,

I made about 4-5 runs on a drag strip today, redlined alot didnt bounce the limiter or anything but now I am having the strangest thing happen. In any gear the engine kicks back the RPM's from 4000 to 3500 when accelerating now this doesnt happen in neutral. So could it be the tranny? clutch? differental? ecu? I have to floor it to kick up to acceleration after this odd drop of pwr happens. It seems fine once you get past 4k but its pretty scary. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? I dont think its the maf or ecu cause it rev's fine in neutral? Please help I have 400 miles left under warrenty. Oh by the way I ran a WRX and A turboed 240sx My best time was 14.3 which is ok I guess considering I have never raced at a drag strip before. the WRX broke down on the the track the second run but ran a 14.5 the 1st run.. The 240sx was running 13.8 with a built bottem end pictures/movie will be posted later. Please help me out if you can.

BTW
Im all stock except an Injen CAI (been on a year no issues)
and DNX exhaust (been fine for a month)

I dont think this is your problem, but if you have it check the adjustable redline. Once after a servicing it was set back to 4000 rpm for some reason!

That 4k doesn't adjust redline, it just reminds you when to shift. It has no bearing on performance.

@ jebz240: Sounds like your clutch is shot.

+1 for clutch slipping...3.5K rpms is near Max for you torque and drag racing can wear on the clutch really fast (depending on how you launch)

When you refer to drag racing wearing out a clutch, you mean by just the launches (and fast shifting) right? I hope punching it while in gear doesn't wear out the clutch...
