Default burning oil? (vid of how bad it smokes)

http://media.putfile.com/350Z-smoke

I've had my car for about a month and a half (used car, 03 with 53,XXXmiles, still have my powertrain warranty) I've put test pipes on and a CAI. I took it up to my local Nissan dearship Monday and they said it was fine, it was alittle over on oil and thats why it was smoking (BS I looked before I drove it up there and it was not overfull) so they changed the oil and said it would be fine and stop smokeing after about 50 miles. Needless to say is it smokes more now then it did before I took it up there. I have done some seaching on here and other sites and this seems like a commen thing. Is there anything ya'll think I should ask them to do, or just drop it off and let them worry about it?

Thanks

DANGER!!

There is something wrong, you need to take that car to the dealer and call BS, no car with that little miles will smoke like that, unless the previous owner did something to it or you did, anyway it is time to utilize the powertrain warranty!!

Good god man, go put up a fight and get yourself a new engine (you wouldn't be the first to get one anyway). Definately doesn't look normal. Does it smell pretty bad too?

How much oil are u losing? A day? A week? Between oil changes? Is ur exhaust pipe indicating oil loss? Is ur engine ventilation system free and clear?
On the drivers side there is a 5/8 or so hose coming from the rear of the engine going to ur intake, Is ur interior intake oily upstream from that ? (Like in the Throttle Body)
Nother question----On cold start up do get a puff of smoke thats heavier than normal driving?

These questions are for ammunition when u go to Nissan----BTW, Have u pulled a spark plug to chk color ????

yours smokes a little more than mine (at least on startup and when cold) . . .and mine did not smoke till I gutted the cats 2 months ago. My oil use is normal. Just keep an eye on your oil level, without cats you cant just look at your exhaust to determine this type of problem. 03 67K miles

Thats what i was telling my self..
If the car was cold or not driven for 5 miles when you did that, thats totally normal w/o cats. If thats when its warmed up, it may not be normal.

Blue smoke is never "normal," with or without cats.

I don't have a Z, but my car is still a DOHC V6. I've been running a test pipe for 4 years now, and I drive my car hard. Even with 100k miles on it, it doesn't smoke like that at all.

Dude, I got a TT builtmotor, heads cams, with jamungo sized fuel injectors, no trace of a cat anywhere near my car, and used and abused with over 200+ dyno pulls and my car does not smoke at all during cold start up. This blue smoke is not normal...Look over that vehicle carefuly,Ibet you will find traces ofNitrous or someform of F/I had been installed on it at one point..

Exactly right, there has at some point been a very strong power adder, probably did some damage and the customer decided to part out then trade-in to cut some losses. My guess is the dealer realizes this and don't want to take the hit, being you are so close to the end of your warranty. It is just a fact, some, definately not all, dealerships are dishonest. I wouldn't take no for an answer and someone would fix my car!!!

Blue smoke is a sign of engine burning motor oil. The piston rings are no good which cause the oil to leak into the combustion camber and burn oil. Bottom end work is required. A compression reading should show sign of leakage [due to bad rings]. Good luck

I just got off the phone with the dealership I got the car from (took it back there, not the same same dealership it was ay last week) and they said its over on oil again and thats why its smoking. Now its been over on oil two times and 2 dealerships did the oil changes WTF. I asked the tech if that was what was making it smoke and he said "yes its burning oil but only because it was over filled and would be fine after I drive it for a little bit" so they are aware that its burning oil. Needless to say the car is still sitting there and I don't know what to do, they are wanting me to get the car but I told them I would not pick it up if it was not fixed (still smoking), but they are saying its fixed. What do ya'll think, 2 dealerships and the same thing but still no fix. Where do I go from here I'm out of dealerships to take the car

that doesnt make sense. What are the chances that both dealerships over filled the motor oil? Are you sure oil is over filled, I would check the dip stick. Ask them to drain the oil to proper level, I bet it will still burn oil cuz the piston rings are busted. good luck!

STOP dealing with the dealer and call NNA ASAP!

I had the exact same problem with my 03 350z when I put on test pipes. With the stock cats it was barely noticable and then I noticed it was burning a quart of oil every 500 miles.

Call Nissan and get a case worker and have them talk to the dealer. You might have to stick it out through a consumption test, but if it is burning oil, it will prove it.

I got a entire motor replaced, it wasnt easy, but it was worth it. They do know of others that have had similiar claims despite what they say. If need be I can give you my info so they can see that mine was replaced, and I had the same problems.

when i over filled with oil , my car smoked when i am at idle or at red light. but it wasnt constantly smoking. only once in a while it would smoke. its the oil going in to the intake manifold from the bypass thats causing the smmoke. it only started to smoke when i added the oil. didnt think 1/2 a quart over would cause it to smoke.

Weird, I got an apexi-n1 exhaust w stock cats, and sometimes my car smokes like that at a light, never while im driving, I noticed this more when i got the exhaust. My car is never low on oil, and i am the original owner (and never beat the hell out of the car too!) blue smoke is an indication of burning oil, and to my knowledge a white smoke is an indication of burning coolant, or leaking headgasket. right? i mean thats what I hear. somebody chime in here. Also too you would feel a power loss with bad rings, thats definately true.
