Hi,

I have noticed a rattle coming from my tranny the last 5000kms or so. It is like the gear shifter is rattling around in the gate. If I keep my hand on the gearknob and maintain pressure on the gearstick then the rattle is reduced. It is worse when I accelerate quickly.

I did a search but could not find anyone with this problem. I'm not that mechanically minded so does anyone know what the problem is?

 

normal, our trannies are freaking loud! keep in mind that the shifter is attached directly to the tranny.

 

Ok thanks mate. Its just that I have had the car since new (nearly 3 years now) and have only just noticed the noise.
