Red face 350z Enthusiast electric problem??

Hi,
I have a 2004 350z Enthusiast and have around 40k mi on it. Recently ive been having two issues
1. The passenger side window will not work at times. if i hit it hard with my elbow it works with no issue.. But this is happening very frequenly now
2. Once in a while i have problems getting the car to start. I would turn the ignition on and it would kick in. I would have to remove the key wait for a few seconds and try again and it would work fine

Im gonna take the car to the dealer this weekend. But was wondering if anyone has had similar experience or know what could be wrong with my car.

first one is easy, take the door panel off, take the motor out, dissasemble it, and clean the muck and grime out of it, put back together and voila, problem fixed. or its a bad one, apparently the Z's have a bad problem with them. good news there is a service buliton(sp?) on them, bad news its not covered by warenty, good news, think its only 40 bucks to get a new one if still under factory warrenty.....

second one, i havnt a clue....time for a new battery? or ignition is going out...

Anything on your keychain besides the key and the fob? Like anything that could interfere with the anti-theft system and keep the engine from starting?
On the window issue, thats what mine did when it was going bad. Replaced under warranty, just before I about broke the skin on my hand from smacking the door.

there just a few more keys and a grocery store swipe card. In fact you raised an interesting point. A few months back i had the check engine light on and took it to the shop and they said that the computer showed that the car supposedly started with a wrong key.........
it might have something to do with it.. ill def mention it to the service person

i remember jason from performance nissan saying its best to have a 'driving' key thats just the key and nothing else. the ignition can break if something heavy is on it.

Reason I brought it up is my business uses an electronic key for the employee entrance door, kind of like the "speed pass" passive transmitter used at Mobil gas stations, and if I put it on my keyring, it will sometimes cause the car not to start. Found that out by accident and it had me scratching my head until I realized that the problem arose only a day or two after putting it on my keyring, so I did a test and sure enough, the car would turn over but not even try to start. Had to take the key totally out of the ignition to reset it, and it fired right up. Weird but true.

did take the car to dealer yesterday and the battery was almost gone (i have over 43k on it), so that might explain why the ignition would fail from time to time and also the service did that I should not keep my gate opener with the keys as it mihgt interefer, as you said.
But on the window, he said it cost aroind $400 to fix. I thght that was way too steep. might take it to another shop .... well winter is around the corner anywyas no real reson to pull the window down anyways

thanks for the info yall

Hey zThis, it could also be a TSB. I've had my '04 350 since brand new, had the alarm installed on day 3 of ownership. The morning before my alarm went in my Z did the I'm not going to turn over thing, took 3 trys before it would start, it still does it to this day, and have heard lots of times "we can not replicate the problem". Nothing wrong with the battery and no alarm in the first time it happened, so couldn't possibly be the alarm.

Good luck. I hope it is just the battery, but keep notes and if it does it again take it straight back to the dealer.
