Default Extend Warranty?

I have about 35,200 miles on my car, I'm deciding if I should extend bumper to bumper warranty to 60,000 miles which cost $1500 or extend it to 100,000 miles for $2200.
Are extended warranties worth it? If so, does anyone know if I can purchase extended warranties online for a better price?

What year is it, and what problems have you had so far?

Also, any mods? You have all your service records and stuff, no reason for the dealer to deny you warranty service?

I have a stock 04, but I plan to mod it soon.
I've milked my warranty to the max with the following repairs and replacements:
Tranny, rear bearings, new front tires, gas gauge, rear view mirror, front dash rattle, drive shaft re-tightening, and rear shock

Extended warranties are as worthwhile as the company who writes them. I have seen warranties with so many exceptions (stuff that is not covered) that they are not worth a dime.

I agree, forget the online warranties as they may not hold any weight at your local dealership.

If you trust whatever dealer you've been taking your car to, to uphold warranty service, then get a warranty through them.

It sounds like it may be worth it in your case, especially since you haven't had a "problem free" car. But please check very carefully the terms of the agreement before you commit.

Also beware of mods that may void warranty service on certain items. For example if you have aftermarket wheels, it's unlikely they will service your shocks...

I have the Nissan extended warranty and even with all of my modification I still get things fixed without a problem. I just had my rear main seal replaced under warranty.

+1, I agree to some extent... For mechanically inclined people that have the resources, the warranty is a waste. For women and those that are not so fortune, it could prove vital..

I don't think any 350z owner has a problem free car

Sounds like mine.

Once you've gone through all those major repairs, recalls, etc. you should be OK! If you keep your car serviced, it just may not be worth the money to have a warranty. Only problem you might have left is the "wandering window" syndrome.

Better to save your money.

Good luck and all best,
Joe

Gee UC Da Z, sounds like your 04 and my 04 are almost twins. Got gas gauge problems, front dash rattle -drivers console, stuffed uneven shocks in back, drive shaft harmonics + more and now the trans is starting to grind and make a horrible very audible very unhealthy wining noises. Car is now not being driven. Very uneven wear on tyres even though it's set on a race spec alignment and I make sure to get alignments and services frequently. And well my Z is a whole long story.

Was your Z manufactured on a Friday too.

So did the dealer that fixed the problems with your Z tell you what was wrong or did you have to have private assessments as I've had to do?

Yeah usually the dealer would tell me what the problem was.
