Tires Feathering
I'm in the same boat now too. My tires have started making a growling noise when the car is running at 20 mph or less. I checked my tires and the insdie edges are feathered.
I contacted NNA last Friday and got a case number but they still have not called back to even discuss the matter.
It's disappointing to hear that some people have replaced their tires only to have the feathering reoccur. Makes me wonder if it's time to dump the car.

My car has a VIN in the 3000 range and it's a Touring MT. I started noticing the noise about 1500 miles ago and just reported it last week after looking at some of the messages here.
I am now experiencing the same problem with my tires. They have gotten loud as Helll in the over the past few weeks. I have a little over 8,000 miles on them. I think that my alignment is off and this is what is causing the problem. The roads that I have to drive on here in Atlanta are bumpy as heck! There are some roads that I drive on every day that I normally would think twice about driving on in a SUV. I am going to get my alignment looked at. Is it plausible that the bumpy, pot hole ridden, damaged roads in Atlanta is actually what through my car to be out of alignment? It either that, or the stock tires just suck ******!
