Default My Shift LeveR bolt snapped off the bottom of the lever!

Appears to have been stretched by over-torque. Anyone else have this happen? Imagine my surprise when I find out lifting up the boot the entire lever comes with it! Will have pics soon. Never had the thing touched since it left the factory - 2004 G Coupe 6MT. Anyone hear about TSB's or the like on this???

- Thanks in advance

I don't really understand what you're saying. Shift level? you mean shift lever?

Nissan factory must not pay that much attention to torque settings. I had a bolt on my front strut tower bar that was stripped - from the FACTORY.

If its the single bolt that runs perpandicular to the car that is the axis point ---it needs to be 10 Ft Lbs torque

Default 3rd pic from directly below, clutch slave removed

$12 bolt. Replacement requires pulling apart most of the effort associated with a clutch replacement (which I just had done, not my lucky month with this car - rotors, pads, clutch, flywheel...at 31k miles).

I am curious to know if others have experienced this. Because I just put a JWT Clutch and Flywheel, I have a snowball's chance of getting this fixed under warranty, and the dealer doesn't have any experience with other than a stock clutch - they did not have any interest in touching anything aftermarket.

I'm sure I could get it warranteed if I wanted to spend at least half a day and 1 or 2 trips to the dealer, but I don't, and I would have to get the car towed on top of it - probably just to hear a) your clutch did this (BS!) or b) you shift toooo hard. Yeah, right.

Thanks. Looks like it got a little more than that. The bolt shows signs of stretch.

This is also from the factory, it was never taken apart or re-torqued. Just bad luck it breaks 3 years in...

I guess may as well close this thread. This really svcked, very expensive $12 bolt based on the labor required to pull out the trans to get to it. Almost as expensive as putting in a new clutch for time.
