Default Downshifting....opinions....? Good/Bad

I'm curious about your opinions on down shifting and if it is good or bad for the Z's transmission or clutch.

What is your opinion on downshifting in general?

Also, what methods of downshifting or how do you perform and downshift and at what times during your commute would you downshift?

Thanks.

I down shift when I need more power. I do not downshift to slow the car down, I have brakes for that, I will use engine braking in the gear I am in, and then put the clutch in and brake the rest of the way, untill I need to go again, at which time I will select the proper gear rev match and go.

I always try to revmatch whenever downshifting.
